Ian Ruhter

Really appreciate this guy’s work, it is so much more raw and real than digital photography, even though nobody can doubt the ease, simplicity, and convenience that the digital age has brought to photography. I took a semester-long photojournalism class back at Magnolia West High School, where I learned the entire film photography process, developing and drying the film, burning the print with the enlarger, and developing the print. But this was just 35mm film. Nothing close to what Ian is doing here. Check the above link for insight.

Then, he decides to push it. Snowboarding? Huge format and long shutter speeds? No problem, I’ll just throw 16 generators out on the snow to power a zillion strobes. That should freeze the action. And sure enough, it does. Check the link above for photos and more explanation.
